Dear friends and colleagues,
We hope this message finds you well!
aces – act local has now officially launched its call for project proposals relating to the topic “Social inclusion”. We kindly invite you and your school to participate in the project contest together with (a) local non-school partner/s!
About the project contest
The new support programme for school-community projects promotes the establishment of local cross-sectoral collaboration between schools and other stakeholders in the community with the goal to tackle social challenges. By supporting these community-based school initiatives, aces – act local is aiming at the enhancement of young people’s active involvement in their local surroundings and strengthening their civic engagement.
aces – act local encourages school-community projects in the fifteen Central and South Eastern European partner countries through a project contest. The awarded local initiatives are supported in the realisation of their projects by means of seed funding, various helpdesk services and an international training event, the aces Academy.
Target group: All types of public schools in the 15 eligible aces partner countries with pupils aged 13-17 years can participate. (Private schools and private schools under public law are excluded!).
Partner countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia
Deadline: Until 28 February 2017, 23:59 CET, interested public schools are encouraged to submit a joint project proposal together with their local cross-sectoral partners. The best local initiatives will be evaluated and awarded by an international jury.
Please find detailed information on the application procedure, contest rules and guidelines here.
Theme of the aces – act local call 2017: Social inclusion
Nobody wants to be excluded. But in fact many people are being left out, marginalised or discriminated against for various reasons. Fairness and equity of treatment for everybody need yet to be achieved. Social change can start on a small scale, on a local level, by people like you and your mates. As a team, identify a challenge in your community, which hinders equal opportunities for all, take the courage and initiative, come up with a plan, make the change happen and share your experiences with others. Potential challenges addressed by the project teams can relate to social cohesion, inclusion or overcoming discrimination and marginalisation.
The title of the aces – act local call 2017 is “Every person matters. Together for social inclusion”.
We are looking forward to plenty of applications!
